Bernd Lagemann, the main person behind the Reggae Jam Festival, better known as ‚Sheriff’ is supporting the establishing of the first HELP Jamaica!-operated Education Center in the community of Cassava Piece in Kingston 8 with a covenant donation of 5000,- EUR right after the Reggae Jam Festival in August 2010.

But that’s not all – HELP Jamaica! will benefit from a closer collaboration as the Festival is going to support the organisation on their public relation efforts and is additionally going to give them the chance to have an information-booth at the Festival ground, to get in touch with many reggae fans from all over Europe.

„Those who have been to Jamaica before, especially to Kingston, know of the need for educational projects and children day care offers. Poverty, violence and criminality are unfortunately a part of the everyday life of many people in Kingston. HELP Jamaica! aims to establish Education Centers, where all people, but especially kids and youths get the chance to learn to read and write, to learn how to use the Computer, get help with their homework or simply being creative in an secure environment. I think these are important educational opportunities to better the chances for some of the youth. And that’s exactly why we have decided to work closely with the HELP Jamaica! organisation and support them financially in the future” says Bernd Lagemann.
