New school term kicks off with new CXC classes and attracts even more students

The new school term for our adult classes for CXC-Students received great response as an orientation evening was held on September 11. More than 80 adults and teenagers gathered at the Education Center in Cassava Piece to meet their teachers and find out about the various classes and programs offered.

Educational specialist Dr. McKenzie encouraged the attendees for empowerment with a motivational speech and supporters like Sgt. Wesley, member of the organization’s Strengthening Commitee expressed their appreciation of the adult education carried out by the dedicated staff at the HELP Jamaica! Education Center. Besides Maths, English and Social Studies that were already offered in the past term, we are happy to welcome Ms. Harris in our team, who will teach a Computer class additional to another one by German volunteer Ms. Munch.

All teachers dedicate their time completely voluntarily and free of charge for the benefit of the students that come not only from Cassava Piece but also the surrounding communities such as Big Yard, Hungry Town, Grants Pen or Whitehall.
